Update on Mom

Well we went in on Tuesday for the visit with the Oncologist. Not so good news. Mom had stage 3 breast cancer + the HER2 (the most aggressive). At this moment there could be microscopic cancer cells floating throughout her body and we would not know until they settled and started to grow and then it would be too late the doc said. So the decision has been made to do Chemotherapy. She will start on Wednesday the 24th. She will do 6 treatments every 3 weeks. Along with that she will be another treatment for that she will do every week for 18 weeks. Then when she is finished with all of that she will need to take a pill for 5 years. Her chances are great with doing the treatment. If the cancer has not comeback within ten years then most likely it wont. I pray this all will work for her and that she wont have too difficult time with all the treatments.

Breast Cancer

It's been some time since I have posted anything. We've had a lot going on these last two months. In February mom discovered she had a lump and went in for her yearly checkup. She asked the doc about it and of course the doc said it was not normal. So they had another mamogram done and also a ultra sound. The mamogram (that was on a Tuesday) did not even show the lump but the ultra sound did. On Friday she went in for the Biopsy and would find out the results on Monday. Late Monday afternoon we were all sitting in the living room waiting for the call. The call came. Not so good news. Yes it is Cancer. What a shock. Talk about your heart just sinking to the floor. None of us could believe it or wanted to believe it. Mom was very shooken up about it. But after a day she got back to her old self and was very posative. Tuesday I took her and Papa up to Missoula to see the surgen and discuss the options. They then scheduled her surgery for the following tuesday. Dr. J her surgen is a wonderful lady very nolagable and straight to the point. It was very refreshing. Mom made her decision to go ahead and have a masectomy she felt that was best and would void off any chance of it reacuring in the breast area. Tuesday came and we all went to the hospital. Papa did not take any of the this very good. They did a dye test to show where her main lymph node was and she ended up having two. They were amazed at how fast the dye flowed to the nodes. Usually it takes quite some time. This was a good thing. She came back and then we went and saw her before they were took her to the OR. Rex brought Nicky in with us. Mom lit up as soon as she saw him. Babies are good medicine. We all gave her loves and the started the waiting game. She went in at 2pm and she was done 4-4:30. When I saw the doctor comming I think I litterly held my breath. She was all smiles. Everything went well and the first test on the lymph node was negative. I have never felt such relief other than when my son was born and took his first breath. We waited to she her in her room (7pm) and said goodnight. She came home the following day still drugged but so positive. The following Wed. I took her in for her post op. When the doc. came in she nearly turned around and walked back out (joking) She couldn't believe how well mom looked. She did not look like she had just had major surgery. The visit went well. The next week she got her bandages off and now on the 17th we go for another visit and to see the oncolagist to see if they will recomend any treatment. Mom is doing so well it's simply amazing. She has so much energy and positvity. She attributes her success and well being to all those whom prayed for her and the blessings she recieved. It's been a mirical. We are so greatful to our Heavenly Father for granting her, her health.

Ladies do your breast exames, know your breast and know your history. The majority of Breast Cancer that is found is by the patient not the doctors or the mamograms.

I will up date you on what we find out this comming week. Till then Take Care.

Time is sure flying by. I've been so busy I haven't had to really sit and write and upload pictures. Nicholas is now 7 1/2 Months. Everyday seems so amazing to me. Our children grow so fast. They are simply miracles. I am so blessed to have been given such a gift of joy. Here are a couple of pictures. The baseball one is his six month portrait. The next is in the leaves at the Mansion. This past Sunday Mom & Papa celebrated thier 40th Wedding Anniversary. They had a wonderful day. We stopped by for a visit and Nicki gave them his 4month Portrait which they both loved and mom put up right away. Other than that things have been pretty normal around here. Nothing too special happening.

Please Mom I Want Some More

It's hard to believe that Nicholas is already eating solids. That's right. He's been eating solids now for about a month. He loves his fruits (takes after mom in that), just chows down. You can't feed him fast enough. He'll even grab your had to stuff it in. Now veggies, they are different story for the first couple bites then it's the same story but not so enthusiastic. He can make some of the funniest faces though when you try something new. It's so funny. Enjoy the pictures.

It's been a while since I've updated our News. It's been pretty crazy around here. A very busy July. We had our 4th of July Parad which is put on by the Sunday School so Audry and I had to get our class (Merri Miss B) ready. We gave them the choice of what they would like and they decieded to be flower children. They came up with some cute costumes. Nicholas road in the parade with us. He was all wide eyed till the trailer started moving and he decied to to go to sleep. He was an All American Boy. Dressed in a little basball outfit ball cap and all. He was quite cute if I don't say so myself. Then we had Conference. Little Victoria (well not so little any more she's 14) came up and stayed with us. It was so great seeing her. She's growing up so fast. Mom had company so I was her chef for the weekend so she could enjoy everyone. We had a great time. The Priesthood men BBQ in the pit like they used to and it turned out so so good. They are good cooks. That's just a bit of our July month. Here are some pics of Nicki. He's growing like a weed..... Hope this finds all of you well. Take care. Enjoy the pics.

Nick is just the happiest little boy I've met.

He wakes up with a smile and goes to sleep with a smile.

He truly is the sunshine in our lives.

Fathers Day
2008

For Fathers Day this year Mom took us all out to eat at the lovely Broadax Lodge. It's roughly an hour drive (give or take a little) from our home. We saw a ton of sheep on the way up. Lots of moma's with their babies. After dinner we did our usually family picture taking. It's so peaceful at the lodge. Hope you enjoy the pictures. Happy Fathers Day to all the Fathers.
